- Review tender documents and technical specifications; prepare Design Intent Documents and design inputs for tendering.
- Develop protection single-line diagrams (SLDs) showing protection principles, relays and metering.
- Prepare Functional Design Descriptions/Standards, signal lists, trip matrixes, logic and interlocks.
- Produce schematic diagrams for control & relay panel interfaces, circuit diagrams for new and retrofit setups, cable block diagrams, wiring/termination diagrams and core sheets.
- Prepare relay ordering information, cable schedules, BOQ estimates and SCS IO schedules.
- Perform panel engineering tasks (layouts, circuit diagrams, wiring tables, terminal tables) and create asbuilt documentation.
- Size CTs/VTs, perform voltage drop calculations for trip/close coils and LVAC power cables, and design auxiliary power systems (LV AC panels, DC panels, auxiliary transformer, battery & charger sizing, cable sizing and selectivity studies).
- Review and technically vet vendor drawings/offers for control & relay panels and auxiliary systems; conduct vendor offer evaluations.
- Support FAT/SAT of primary and secondary equipment and participate in customer approvals for designs and drawings.
- Coordinate with primary engineering, lead engineers, sourcing, factory counterparts and protection/control teams to ensure timely design progress and delivery.
- Identify technical risks and opportunities; estimate engineering effort for tender costing and propose methods to reduce engineering effort.
- Attend customer meetings and site visits for tender/project clarifications; act as interface engineer during erection & commissioning when required.
- Maintain and improve quality systems and ensure ontime delivery of design deliverables.
