Responsibilities: The Major Responsibilities Of The Job Are 1) Capturing The Weight Of Vehicles That Come To The Weighbridge As Per The Standard Operating Procedure. 2) Recording The Vehicle Registration, Customer, Product, Transporter, And The Source As Well As The Destination. 3) Issuing The “Kanta Parchi” Or Weighbridge Ticket Showing The Weight Indicated By The Weighbridge. 4) Declining To Issue A “Kanta Parchi” To Vehicles Whose Weight Exceeds The Weighing Capacity Of The Weighbridge. 5) Ensuring That All Drivers And Other Visitors Are Wearing A Mask Whenever This Is Required By Law. 6) Answering The Telephone Pleasantly And Professionally. 7) At Any Public Weighbridge, Collecting Payment For The Weighing From The Driver Of The Vehicle By Any Of The Means Accepted At The Weighbridge. 8) At Any Public Weighbridge, Counting Cash Tendered By The Driver, Returning The Correct Change, And Tallying The Cash At The End Of His Shift With The Amount Reported By The Software. Handing Over The Cash To The Accounts Department At The End Of His Shift. 9) Informing The Person In The Next Shift About Any Events Of Interest During His Shift That May Have A Bearing On His Work. 10) Compiling, Storing,
Checking And Sharing Daily And Weekly Reports Of The Weighbridge Using Excel, Email, Kanta Software And Other Support Software. 11) Maintaining Hygiene And Cleanliness In The Operator’s Room As Well Keeping The Electronic Equipment Relating To The Weighbridge Clean And Well Maintained. 12) Ensuring Performance Of All Needed Maintenance Of The Weighbridge For Which The Weighbridge Operator Is Responsible. 13) Checking From Time To Time That The Weight Displayed By The Weighbridge Is 0 When It Is Empty. 14) Observing And Reporting Any Suspicious Or Corrupt Activities Or Patterns Over Time Taking Place Regarding The Operation Of Weighbridge. The Operator Must Familiarize Himself With The Various Reasons That Can Affect The Accuracy Of The Weight Shown By The Weighbridge. 15) Recording And Reporting Any And All Accidents, Near Misses, And Other Incidents Taking Place At The Weighbridge And In The Operator Room, To The Supervisor. 16) Such Other Duties And Tasks As May Be Assigned By The Supervisor From Time To Time, Provided They Are In Keeping With His Qualifications, Experience And Position
