Job Summary

We are looking for a Desktop Support Trainee to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will assist employees with hardware, software, and basic technical issues while gaining hands-on experience in IT support and troubleshooting.

This is an entry-level opportunity suitable for candidates who have a strong interest in IT, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide first-level technical support to users for desktop, laptop, printer, and other IT-related issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and common business applications.
- Assist with hardware installation, configuration, upgrades, and basic troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot basic network, Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN, and connectivity issues.
- Create, update, and close support tickets while maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access-related requests.
- Support installation and configuration of software, antivirus, printers, and peripherals.
- Perform routine system maintenance and software updates.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or relevant teams.
- Maintain IT asset records and assist with inventory management.
- Follow IT security policies, procedures, and data protection guidelines.
- Provide professional and courteous support to all users.





Required Skills & Qualifications

- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of basic computer hardware and networking concepts.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Positive verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong willingness to learn new technologies and IT support practices.

Preferred Skills

- Basic knowledge of Active Directory and user account management.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN.
- Exposure to help-desk/ticketing systems.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
- Any IT certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or equivalent is an advantage.
