Function: Mechanical Project Execution

Job Purpose
Manage day-to-day mechanical execution activities at the SMS-3 project site, ensuring equipment erection, installation, testing, and commissioning are completed safely and as per approved engineering and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute assigned mechanical equipment and system packages.
- Review equipment drawings, GA drawings, foundation/interface drawings, and installation requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment erection and installation.
- Supervise installation of:
- Furnace-related equipment
- Ladle/tundish systems
- Cranes and material handling equipment
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Cooling water systems
- Pumps and piping
- Lubrication systems
- Fume extraction equipment
- Other SMS auxiliary equipment

- Check equipment alignment, leveling, grouting, bolting, welding, piping, lubrication, and installation quality.
- Ensure erection work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications,



method statements, and ITPs.
- Monitor contractor manpower, equipment, productivity, and daily progress.
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation teams for interfaces.
- Conduct daily site inspections and identify quality/safety deviations.
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Participate in equipment inspection, FAT, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Support trial runs and performance testing.
- Ensure punch-point closure and equipment handover.
- Maintain project documentation, inspection records, test reports, and as-built information.
- Ensure strict adherence to project safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
