Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to join our enterprise
application team working on a Spring Boot monolithic application with a
React front-end, as part of our ongoing J2EE-to-Spring Boot modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience building and maintaining full-stack enterprise applications, contributing to both UI development and backend service design within a large, actively evolving monolithic codebase.
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Reacts, Spring Boot 3.x and Java
17 in a monolithic application context
• Solid understanding of REST API design and integration between
front-end and backend
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Working knowledge of relational databases PostgreSQL or any
RDBMS
• Experience with build tools (Webpack/Vite) and package managers
(npm/yarn)
• Familiarity with Git-based version control
• Understanding of monolithic application design patterns and
modular decomposition practices
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain features across the full stack —
React front-end and Spring Boot backend
• Support migration of legacy J2EE/WebSphere modules (EJBs,
Servlets, JSPs) to Spring Boot 3.x on Java 17
• Analyze and refactor legacy code for compatibility with Spring Boot
equivalents (JNDI lookups, CMT, Work Managers, MDBs)
• Assist with DB2-to-PostgreSQL data migration: SQL dialect
conversion, stored procedure rewrites, query optimization
• Collaborate with the migration team to align new feature
development with ongoing modernization efforts
• Write and maintain unit/integration tests
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and vendor teams during sprint cycles
and release planning
• Maintain migration tracking artifacts (checklists, status reports, risk
logs) for stakeholder visibility
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
• Prior experience on a J2EE-to-Spring Boot or legacy modernization
project
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development
tools
• Experience with API test automation frameworks
• Exposure to vendor-managed KT processes and documentation
standards
Soft Skills
• Strong written communication for documentation and stakeholder
updates
• Ability to work with vendor teams and manage KT-driven
workstreams
• Ability to balance new feature development with
modernization/migration priorities
