Working closely with our Corporate Head of Health and Safety, you'll lead our oversight and assurance framework, ensuring our arrangements are effective, transparent and supported by clear evidence.

Leading a specialist team of three, you'll provide senior leaders and the Board with meaningful insight into health and safety performance, identifying risks, challenging existing practices and driving continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

- Overseeing our risk-based H&S; audit and assurance programme, including the Big 6 compliance areas.
- Analysing health and safety performance, incidents, audit findings and compliance data to identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Producing clear, evidence-based assurance reports to support Executive and Board-level decision-making.
- Working closely with operational teams, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit to strengthen assurance arrangements and ensure effective governance.
- Overseeing audit findings and corrective actions to ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.

What you'll bring

- Significant experience in health and safety management, governance, risk or assurance within a complex organisation.
- A NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent recognised qualification, ideally with a NEBOSH Diploma or willingness to work towards one.
- An ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent recognised auditing qualification, or currently working towards one.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, ISO 45001, HSG65 and the Three Lines Model.
- Experience developing or managing health and safety assurance frameworks, audit programmes or compliance activities.
- Proven leadership and people-management experience.

- Robust analytical and reporting skills, with experience presenting findings and influencing senior stakeholders.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Experience within housing, care or another complex regulated environment would be beneficial, alongside experience of ISO 45001 implementation or certification.
