The Data Architect will define data architecture, data models, data flows, integration
patterns, governance standards, and data platform architecture for business and
technology solutions.
The role will work across application, database, Big Data, analytics, cloud, security, and
engineering teams to translate business and system requirements into scalable, secure,
reliable, and maintainable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Define data architecture principles, standards, patterns, and target-state
architecture.
Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on business and
system requirements.
Define data entities, relationships, ownership, boundaries, and lifecycle.
Design data flows across applications, databases, APIs, operational systems,
and analytical platforms.
Define architecture for transactional, operational, and analytical data
environments.
Design data integration and data movement patterns across systems and
platforms.
Define data storage and access patterns based on workload requirements.
Establish standards for data quality, governance, lineage, security, privacy,
retention, and lifecycle management.
Work with databases and Big Data teams to translate data architecture into
implementable solutions.
Evaluate data technologies and define technology requirements based on
scalability, performance, reliability, security, and cost.
Support data migration, modernization, and cloud adoption initiatives.
Review data designs and technical implementations for alignment with agreed
architecture and standards.
Identify data architecture risks, dependencies, constraints, and opportunities for
improvement.
Define reusable data architecture patterns, standards, and reference
architectures.
Work with application and engineering teams to ensure appropriate data
integration and access patterns.
Maintain data models, architecture diagrams, technical decisions, standards, and
other architecture documentation.
Participate in customer discussions, architecture workshops, and technical
decision-making.
Required Skills & Experience
10 15 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, database
architecture, or related roles.
Strong understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
Strong understanding of relational databases, data stores, and data access
patterns.
Experience designing data architecture across operational, transactional, and
analytical systems.
Strong understanding of data integration, data flows, APIs, and system-to-system
data exchange.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, lineage, security, privacy,
retention, and lifecycle management.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and data architecture.
Understanding of data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse architectures.
Ability to evaluate data technology choices against functional and non-functional
requirements.
