Role Overview

As an Advanced Software Engineer at Hilti, you will work on large-scale digital platforms and complex engineering challenges that support Hilti's global transformation journey. You will independently design and deliver robust software solutions, lead technical initiatives, optimize systems and engineering practices, and collaborate with global teams to improve scalability, reliability, performance, and product quality. This role requires strong full-stack engineering capability, with deep experience in C#/.NET, Web APIs, microservices, and contemporary front-end development using Angular and TypeScript.

What You'll Do

•

Contribute across all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, debugging, release, and maintenance activities; support delivery of scalable and reliable software solutions aligned with engineering standards.

•

Develop well-designed, testable, efficient, secure, and maintainable code; ensure software implementations comply with functional specifications, architectural guidelines, and development best practices.

•

Design and develop applications using C#/.NET and related technologies; build and integrate Web APIs, backend services, and microservices-based solutions.

•

Design and develop modern, responsive web applications using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS; build reusable UI components and integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and microservices.

•

Apply Angular best practices including component-driven development, routing, reactive forms, RxJS-based reactive programming, front-end performance optimization, and maintainable state management approaches.

•

Work with relational and non-relational databases including ORM technologies, data modelling, query optimization, and performance tuning.

•

Prepare and produce software releases and deployment artifacts; participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, defect resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

•

Investigate emerging technologies, frameworks, and alternative technical approaches; contribute inputs for architectural reviews and technology evaluations.

•

Leverage AI/GenAI tools for code generation, unit test creation, refactoring, debugging, documentation, impact analysis, and onboarding to unfamiliar codebases; evaluate AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, performance,



maintainability, and architectural alignment.

B.Tech/M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 8-10 years of hands-on software design and development experience.

•

Strong expertise in designing and developing applications using C#/.NET; strong understanding of object-oriented analysis, design principles, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.

•

Strong hands-on experience designing and developing enterprise-grade applications using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.

•

Deep understanding of Angular architecture, component lifecycle, reusable UI component design, routing, reactive forms, RxJS, state management, and front-end performance optimization.

•

Experience designing and developing Web APIs and/or microservices using .NET or Node.js, with good understanding of API design, security, scalability, and integration practices.

•

Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, ORM technologies, data modelling, and performance tuning.

•

Familiarity with container concepts and toolsets such as Docker, with Kubernetes exposure preferred.

•

Strong experience using Git-based version control systems with modern branching strategies and development workflows.

•

Good understanding of cloud-based platforms, distributed systems, and modern engineering paradigms.

•

Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing engineering decisions within Agile teams; ability to guide engineers and strengthen engineering practices across teams.

Nice to Have

•

Strong familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment; experience working with microservices architecture in large-scale distributed systems.

•

AWS or other cloud platform exposure; familiarity with TDD, BDD, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, observability, secure coding, and performance engineering concepts.

•

Experience with modern Angular ecosystem tools and practices such as NgRx,



Angular Material, Jest/Karma testing frameworks, module federation, micro frontends, and front-end CI/CD pipelines.

•

Exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows, AI agents, or automation-led developer productivity initiatives; awareness of modern AI-enabled software engineering practices.
