Production Engineer for Productivity Improvement Job Description Who you are/: To increase throughput, shorten cycle times, and get rid of non/-value/-added stages, analyse and optimise current manufacturing processes, line layouts, and workflow sequences.
Create, evaluate, and update Control Plans, Work Instructions /(WI/), Process Flow Diagrams /(PFD/), and Standard Operating Procedures /(SOPs/). Use line balancing strategies and Lean Manufacturing approaches /(5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Poka/-Yoke, Single/-Minute Exchange of Die, or SMED/).
Oversee the root/-cause analysis /(8D, 5/-Why, Fishbone Diagram/) for equipment downtime, process variances, quality rejects, and line stoppages. Plan Preventive/Autonomous Maintenance procedures and perform Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis /(PFMEA/) in conjunction with the maintenance and tooling teams.
Keep an eye on key manufacturing measures,



such as labour productivity, first/-pass yield, scrap percentage, and overall equipment effectiveness /(OEE/). Help with pilot runs, shop/-floor tooling/jig design verification, process validation, and recent product introduction /(NPI/).
