Job Description:

Training Design and Content Development
Assess training needs from project requirements, client guidelines, audit findings and performance data.
Develop and maintain training curricula, presentations, job aids, process documents, case studies and

assessments aligned to project-specific abstraction guidelines and data dictionaries.
Update training material promptly when guidelines, protocols or project specifications change.

Training Delivery
Deliver classroom and virtual induction training covering medical terminology, anatomy, physiology,

common clinical conditions and disease processes (especially cancer), and genetic testing.
Train current hires on reviewing and abstracting data from EHRs, paper charts, laboratory reports and

physician notes, and on applying inclusion/exclusion criteria.
Train on medical coding and classification (e.g., ICD-10-CM, SNOMED CT), data mapping and

standardization, and data entry in EDC systems and registries (e.g., REDCap).
Deliver training on HIPAA, data privacy, data security,



GCP and clinical data management best practices.

Assessment, Nesting and Ramp-up
Conduct assessments and mock-abstraction exercises to evaluate readiness before production, and

certify trainees against defined accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
Support nesting and on-the-job training, monitoring the ramp-up of each batch and providing individual

coaching.
Maintain training records, attendance, scores and batch performance reports.

Continuous Improvement and Collaboration
Work with Quality Assurance and Team Leaders to analyze error trends and deliver targeted refresher

and upskilling sessions.
Partner with Operations, HR and clinical, research and data management teams to align training with

business needs and clarify documentation.
Gather trainee and stakeholder feedback to improve training effectiveness, and report on training

outcomes using Excel.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
