Job Summary

We are looking for detail-oriented Medical Coders with 1–3 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED) coding. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines, along with the ability to review medical records and assign accurate codes in accordance with US healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze Emergency Department medical records, physician documentation, and clinical reports.
Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on documented diagnoses, procedures, and services.
Apply appropriate ED-specific coding guidelines and evaluation and management (E/M) coding principles.
Ensure coding accuracy, productivity, and compliance with established quality standards.
Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies, and potential coding discrepancies.
Follow official coding guidelines, client-specific instructions, and regulatory requirements.




Meet daily productivity and quality targets within defined turnaround times.
Incorporate audit feedback and continuously improve coding accuracy.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in US Healthcare Medical Coding.
Hands-on experience in Emergency Department (ED) coding is preferred.
Positive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Understanding of ED evaluation and management (E/M) coding guidelines.
Robust knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Ability to interpret physician documentation and clinical records accurately.
Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and time management.
Willingness to work in rotational or night shifts, as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications
CPC, COC, or other relevant AAPC/AHIMA certification is an advantage.
Experience working with US healthcare providers, hospitals, or RCM organizations.
Familiarity with coding audits, quality benchmarks, and productivity metrics.
