Key Responsibilities
Weld Operations: Perform precision TIG welding on thin-to-thick sheet metal, custom assemblies, or structural piping.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and standard weld symbols.
Equipment Setup: Configure TIG power sources, adjust shielding gas flow rates, select proper tungsten electrodes, and set amperage/pulse controls.
Material Preparation: Clean and prep joint surfaces by removing rust, oil, paint, and oxides using grinders, wire brushes, or chemical solvents.
Quality Inspection: Examine finished welds for cracks, porosity, or distortion, and perform post-weld cleanups or grinding.
Safety Compliance: Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), maintain ventilation compliance, and follow shop safety protocols
