ABOUT SHIAANX

ShiaanX is an AI-driven industrial startup building software and physical infrastructure for the next generation of precision manufacturing. We combine AI-native engineering tools with real factory operations, creating a closed loop between design, intelligent process planning, and production.

Our vision is to build a manufacturing system that handles the complete workflow from CAD model to quotation, process planning, production tracking, inspection, and shipping, with humans involved when required.

We serve high-mix, low-volume manufacturing sectors, including aerospace, drones, defence, medical, and electronics.

THE ROLE

This is not a traditional CNC programmer role. You will program customer parts on our VMC and contribute to the development of our AI-driven Factory OS, which learns from expert machining knowledge to automate CAM programming and process planning.

A. PRODUCTION PROGRAMMING

- Program precision components for customer orders on VMC machines.
- Work primarily with aluminium 6061/7075 and stainless steel 316 components, including manifolds, cooling plates, brackets, housings, and structural parts.
- Manage the programming workflow from customer drawings to G-code, including feature identification, machining strategy selection, tool selection, feeds and speeds, post-processing, and first-article verification.
- Coordinate with machine operators on setup, tooling, and first-article inspection.
- Optimise machining cycle times without compromising quality.

B. AI TRAINING

- Work with the software engineering team to encode CAM programming expertise into Factory OS.
- Review AI-generated process plans, setup sheets, and machining strategies, correcting errors and documenting the reasoning behind corrections.




- Help develop templates, rules, and decision frameworks for AI-generated machining recommendations.
- Contribute to tool, material, and machining strategy libraries.
- Help transform practical machining knowledge into structured training data for AI-driven manufacturing automation.

C. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

- Document machining methods, lessons learned, and best practices.
- Identify recurring patterns that can improve Factory OS.
- Stay updated on CAM software, cutting tools, and machining strategies.
- Interact with customers when necessary to clarify drawing requirements and manufacturing feasibility.

WHAT YOU MUST BRING

- 6-10 years of hands-on CAM programming experience on multi-axis VMC machines.
- Strong proficiency in at least one CAM software: Mastercam, Siemens NX, or PowerMill.
- Knowledge of Mitsubishi / Siemens controllers and G-code conventions.
- Experience machining precision aluminium 6061/7075 and stainless steel 316 components.
- Experience working with tight tolerances of 0.0070.050 mm and surface finish requirements of Ra below 1.6 m.
- Understanding of GD&T;, datum reference frames, and manufacturing interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Ability to select cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding strategies for high-mix, low-volume precision manufacturing.

WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART

- Experience with multiple CAM software platforms and CNC controller data.
- Experience programming aerospace, defence, or medical precision components.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems in machining.
- Experience with in-process probing, Renishaw systems, and macro programming.
- Exposure to CMM inspection workflows and QIF or similar structured inspection data.
