We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Surgery Coder

Job Title: Surgery Coder

Experience: 2-3 Years

Key Responsibilities

- Review surgical medical records, operative reports, physician documentation, and other relevant clinical documents.
- Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes, as applicable, based on documented services and procedures.
- Apply appropriate modifiers and identify bundled services in accordance with current coding guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with AMA CPT guidelines, CMS guidelines, NCCI edits, and payer-specific coding requirements, as applicable.
- Identify documentation gaps, coding discrepancies, and opportunities for clarification.
- Maintain required coding accuracy, productivity, and quality standards.
- Follow client-specific guidelines and meet established turnaround times.
- Participate in internal quality audits, feedback sessions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated on changes in surgical coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with team leads, quality analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve coding-related queries.





Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, or a related field preferred.
- 23 years of hands-on experience in surgery medical coding.
- Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding principles.
- Good understanding of operative reports and surgical terminology.
- Familiarity with medical necessity, bundling rules, modifiers, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Knowledge of coding compliance standards and audit procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to meet productivity and quality targets in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- CPC, CCS, or an equivalent medical coding certification.
- Experience working with US healthcare medical coding processes.
- Exposure to surgical specialties such as general surgery, orthopedics, cardiovascular surgery, or other surgical coding domains.
