What You'll Do

We are looking for a skilled, hands-on Mason to work on the construction and finishing of our handcrafted wood-fired pizza ovens.

This is practical, workshop-based work requiring precision, patience and attention to detail. You will work with bricks, tiles, mortar, insulation materials and other construction components to help build ovens that meet our quality and performance standards.

Responsibilities

- Carry out bricklaying, masonry and construction work for wood-fired pizza ovens.
- Lay and align bricks accurately, maintaining correct measurements, levels and finishing.
- Prepare and apply mortar, cement and other materials as required.
- Handle tile fixing, cutting, alignment, grouting and finishing work.
- Assist with insulation and other oven-building processes according to instructions.
- Follow drawings, measurements and guidance from the production supervisor.
- Ensure proper finishing, alignment and consistency at every stage of construction.
- Identify defects or finishing issues and correct them before the work progresses.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness, organise tools and materials.And follow workshop safety practices.
- Coordinate with fabricators and other workshop staff to complete projects on schedule.
- Follow the company's specialised oven-building methods and quality standards.

Requirements

- Practical experience in masonry, bricklaying or construction work.
- Experience in tile fixing, cutting, and finishing.
- Knowledge of mortar preparation, levelling, alignment, and basic construction techniques.
- Ability to follow measurements and instructions accurately.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Comfortable with physically demanding, hands-on workshop work.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with a team.
- Willingness to learn specialised oven-building techniques and work with new materials.




- Basic understanding of workplace safety and tool handling.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with fireplaces, chimneys, furnaces, traditional ovens, or similar structures.
- Familiarity with heat-resistant bricks, refractory mortar, insulation and heat-resistant materials.
- Experience in decorative brickwork or precision tile finishing.

Formal education is not mandatory. Practical skills, relevant experience and a willingness to learn will be given preference.
