Job Description SAP PP Consultant (Discrete Manufacturing)
Role: Custom Software Engineer – SAP PP
Location: Pune

We are looking for an experienced SAP PP Consultant with expertise in Production Planning and Control for discrete manufacturing environments. The candidate will be responsible for configuring, implementing, and supporting SAP PP processes to improve production planning, scheduling, material availability, and shop floor execution. The role also involves using AI-assisted tools to improve documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and overall delivery efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure and support SAP PP processes, including Material Requirement Planning (MRP), production orders, and production execution.
- Manage Bill of Materials (BOM), routings, work centers, capacity planning, and production scheduling.
- Support production order confirmations, backflushing, goods movements, and shop floor reporting.
- Integrate SAP PP with MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, SIT, UAT, deployment, and hypercare support.
- Use AI copilots to accelerate functional documentation, test case generation, and issue resolution.
- Analyze MRP exceptions, material shortages, production delays, and configuration-related defects.
- Ensure data accuracy, change management compliance,



and production process governance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, warehouse, quality, and finance teams to optimize end-to-end production processes.

Required Experience

- Minimum 3 years of relevant SAP PP experience.
- Strong understanding of discrete manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with production planning, MRP, production orders, and shop floor execution.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate manufacturing requirements into effective SAP PP configurations.

AI Requirements

Candidates should be comfortable using AI-assisted tools for documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and production planning analysis. Custom AI model development, RAG, vector databases, and agent development are not required.
