Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Manager – Other Capex Procurement to manage and drive indirect and project procurement activities. The role will be responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiations, cost optimization, and ensuring timely and compliant procurement for engineering and project requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in project procurement, Capex procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiations, and cross-functional coordination, preferably within a pharmaceutical manufacturing or engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead indirect and project procurement activities from requirement identification through purchase order closure and delivery.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality-driven procurement.
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage vendors in line with business and project requirements.
- Float and manage RFQs, obtain quotations, and conduct detailed techno-commercial evaluations.
- Lead commercial negotiations with vendors to achieve competitive pricing, favourable commercial terms, and cost savings.
- Drive cost reduction and value optimization initiatives across assigned procurement categories.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Projects, Finance, Quality, Operations, and other stakeholders for procurement planning and execution.
- Ensure timely processing of PRs, RFQs, comparative statements, approvals, and POs as per procurement procedures.
- Monitor project procurement schedules, delivery timelines, and vendor commitments to support timely project execution.
- Track procurement budgets and ensure effective budget control and cost management.




- Manage vendor performance, including evaluation, development, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and maintain procurement MIS, savings reports, vendor performance reports, and other management dashboards.
- Ensure procurement activities are compliant with company policies, processes, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
- Identify procurement risks and proactively resolve issues related to cost, quality, delivery, and vendor performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Robust expertise in Strategic Sourcing and Project Procurement.
- Excellent Negotiation and Commercial Management skills.
- Strong experience in Vendor Development and Vendor Performance Management.
- Good understanding of Techno-Commercial Evaluation and commercial finalization.
- Strong capabilities in Cost Reduction, Value Optimization, and Budget Management.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and procurement-related systems.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in Procurement MIS and data analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements and project timelines simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, engineering projects, plant expansion, greenfield/brownfield projects, or other Capex-intensive industries will be preferred.
