Job Summary

G.D. Goenka Public School, Kolkata, is looking for a skilled and experienced Basketball Coach to train students in basketball fundamentals, advanced techniques, teamwork, and competitive play. The candidate must be capable of forming school teams, managing the school basketball teams and preparing students for inter-school tournaments, competitions, and annual sports programmes.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct basketball coaching sessions for students across different age groups and proficiency levels.
- Teach dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defensive techniques, and offensive strategies.
- Develop students' physical fitness, coordination, agility, and game awareness.
- Select, train, and prepare school basketball teams for competitions and tournaments.
- Organise practice matches, drills, and structured training programmes.
- Plan and supervise basketball activities during school events and sports programmes.
- Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure appropriate use of equipment, court safety, student discipline, and compliance with school policies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's in any Domain from a recognized university is Mandatory
- Relevant basketball coaching certification, sports qualification, or formal training in basketball is preferred.




- Proven experience in basketball coaching at a school, sports academy, club, or recognised institution.
- Experience in organising or participating in basketball tournaments, matches, or competitive sporting events.
- Demonstrated ability to train students of different age groups and skill levels and forming teams.
- Strong understanding of basketball rules, techniques, fitness training, and injury-prevention practices.
- Experience in preparing school teams for inter-school competitions will be an advantage.
- Relevant certificates, coaching credentials, and supporting documents must be available for verification.
