About Mumbai BioCluster

Mumbai BioCluster, an initiative of ICT Mumbai Research Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization focused on accelerating innovation in biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, and healthcare.

We organize scientific conferences, workshops, and industry-focused events that bring together researchers, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology professionals, and other stakeholders.

We are looking for a proactive and result-oriented Business Development Associate – Events to support business development, event promotion, delegate acquisition, and industry outreach for our upcoming conferences and workshops.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and reach out to potential delegates, industry professionals, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and other relevant stakeholders for upcoming events.
- Generate leads and convert prospects into event registrations and participation opportunities.
- Conduct outreach through telephone calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other professional networking channels.
- Promote conferences, workshops, and scientific events to relevant industry audiences.
- Follow up with prospective participants, maintain lead databases, and track outreach activities and conversion rates.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, industry representatives, researchers, and institutional stakeholders.
- Support sponsorship outreach, partnership development, and other revenue-generation activities related to events.
- Coordinate with the marketing and communications teams to align outreach campaigns and event promotion.
- Maintain regular reports on leads generated, follow-ups, registrations,



and business development progress.
- Work towards defined targets for qualified leads, delegate registrations, and event revenue.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, event sales, delegate acquisition, inside sales, or lead generation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in making outbound calls, approaching new prospects, and conducting professional follow-ups.
- Robust persuasion, negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, email outreach, Excel, and lead-tracking tools.
- Ability to work with targets, manage multiple prospects, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working with conference organizers, event management companies, exhibition companies, or B2B sales teams.
- Exposure to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or scientific events.
- Experience in delegate acquisition, sponsorship sales, or corporate outreach.
