Job Description

Balsam Academy invites applications from experienced and dynamic Social Science educators to lead the department and drive academic excellence, student leadership, and holistic development in alignment with CBSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Social Science department, including curriculum planning, lesson delivery, assessments and academic reviews.
- Teach History, Geography, Political Science and Economics as prescribed by the CBSE curriculum.
- Mentor teachers, monitor student performance and ensure timely syllabus completion and quality teaching and learning.
- Coordinate student council activities, co-scholastic programmes, school events and celebrations.
- Plan and implement CBSE-mandated activities, initiatives and experiential learning programmes.
- Organise social awareness campaigns, community outreach and community development activities.
- Promote critical thinking, responsible citizenship,



leadership and civic awareness among students.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant Social Science discipline.
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- Proven experience leading a department as a Department Head or equivalent academic leadership role.
- Robust knowledge of the CBSE curriculum, NCERT textbooks and secondary-level assessment practices.
- Experience in student council management, co-scholastic departments, event organisation, CBSE initiatives and community engagement is highly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, planning and team management skills.
