Job Description – Anesthesia Technician

Department: Operation Theatre (OT) Hospital: Echelon Hospital, Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai Designation: Anesthesia Technician

Job Summary

The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for assisting anesthesiologists in preparing, checking, maintaining, and operating anesthesia-related equipment and supplies to ensure secure and efficient anesthesia delivery during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and check anesthesia machines, ventilators, monitors, and related equipment before surgical procedures.
- Assist anesthesiologists during the induction, maintenance, and reversal of anesthesia.
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of anesthesia instruments, airway equipment, breathing circuits, and emergency supplies.
- Prepare and arrange anesthesia drugs and consumables as instructed by the anesthesiologist.
- Assist with patient monitoring equipment, including ECG, SpO₂, NIBP, and capnography, as required.
- Maintain cleanliness, disinfection, and readiness of anesthesia equipment as per hospital protocols.
- Check oxygen supply, suction apparatus, and emergency equipment before every procedure.
- Maintain records of equipment checks, maintenance, and consumable usage.
- Coordinate with the OT nursing team, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and biomedical department.
- Follow infection control practices, biomedical waste management guidelines,



and patient safety protocols.
- Assist in emergency situations by ensuring immediate availability of required anesthesia equipment and supplies.
- Report equipment malfunction, shortages, or safety concerns promptly to the concerned authority.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma or Certificate in Anesthesia Technology / Operation Theatre Technology.
- Relevant training in anesthesia equipment handling and operation theatre protocols.

Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital operation theatre preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and practical training may also be considered.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of anesthesia machines, ventilators, monitors, and airway equipment.
- Understanding of infection control and OT safety protocols.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently during emergencies.
- Attention to detail and a patient-safety-oriented approach.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.

Reporting To

OT In-charge / Head of Operation Theatre / Anesthesiologist, as per hospital structure.

Job Location

Echelon Hospital, Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
