Overall Purpose of The Job

- To provide high-level support for IT and communication systems within the marine industry.
- This role involves ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of networking, operating systems, VSAT, and other IT infrastructure to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for IT and communication systems.

- Manage and maintain networking and operating systems to ensure optimal performance.

- Handle VSAT/FBB/Iridium/Starlink communications, ensuring reliable and efficient connectivity.

- Monitor the performance of communications equipment and service

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols.





- Provide on-call and e-mail support for urgent issues and system failures.

- Participate in training and development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest marine electronics,

- communication protocols, and IT best practices.

- Liaise with vendors and service providers to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

Essential

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT and Communications support.
- Strong understanding and troubleshooting/problem resolving skills in: Networking, Operating Systems (OS), Communications systems, VSAT, IT infrastructure
- Proven experience in system administration and network management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of industry standards and security protocols.

Desirable

- Strong understanding of networking principles, operating systems (Windows Client/Server), and communication systems (VSAT , FBB, Iridium, Starlink).
- Experience in the marine communications industry.
- Familiarity with marine communication systems and protocols.
- Knowledge of advanced networking technologies and configurations.
- Experience/knowledge in Marine e-mail communications applications Experience/knowledge in marine communications management devices – Infinity/Xchange etc.
