- Precision Measurement: Use precision tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Defect Management: Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming or defective parts, and trigger containment actions to stop bad stock from moving downstream.
- Root Cause Analysis: Participate in problem-solving and investigation using tools like 7 QC Tools, 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagrams, and 8D methodology.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), inspection checklists, and Audit reports.
- Continuous Improvement: Support Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke (error-proofing), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) initiatives.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Technical Measurements: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), and critical-to-quality (CTQ) specifications.
- Core Quality Tools: Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
- Industry Standards: Knowledge of automotive quality frameworks like IATF 16949.
- Communication: Ability to work closely with production, tool room, and engineering teams to address quality concerns.
