Job Summary

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day machine shop operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and productivity goals are achieved. The role involves manpower coordination, machine loading review, process improvements, quality management, tool management, continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining EHS compliance across the assigned shift.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Operations

- Review machine loading plans received from Production Planning and ensure effective execution of scheduled jobs.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Development Setters, Operators, and Supervisors to resolve production bottlenecks.
- Identify and address issues related to fixtures, cutting tools, machine capacity, inspection methods, and process flow.
- Participate in daily production planning meetings and proactively resolve machine shop issues affecting output.
- Monitor machine utilization and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to achieve departmental targets.
- Ensure smooth shift operations and adherence to production schedules.
- Drive productivity improvements through cycle time reduction and process optimization initiatives.

New Product Development (NPD)

- Participate in Recent Product Development (NPD) meetings and development review discussions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams during product development and process validation stages.
- Support implementation of new manufacturing methods, tooling,



fixtures, and inspection requirements for new products.

Quality Management

- Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) meetings and communicate key actions to the production team.
- Review non-conforming (NC) parts on a daily basis and coordinate containment actions.
- Investigate quality issues and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Identify process inconsistencies and introduce process improvements through fixture modifications or revised manufacturing methods.
- Conduct internal quality audits and prepare audit reports in compliance with company standards and quality requirements.
- Ensure adherence to customer specifications, quality standards, and process controls.

Tooling & Inventory Management

- Collaborate with tooling suppliers to evaluate and introduce new tool technologies for productivity improvement.
- Review monthly tooling requirements and coordinate procurement activities with the Tool Crib department.
- Monitor tool stock levels, consumption, and availability.
- Verify tool issuance records and inventory status.
- Maintain minimum inventory levels for critical tooling items to prevent production interruptions..

Team Management

- Supervise and guide machine shop operators and technicians during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate shift activities to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and delivery objectives are achieved.
- Support skill development and training of team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹46,000.00 per month
