A Bharatanatyam dance teacher in a school is responsible for planning and delivering structured classical dance curricula, choreographing stage productions, and mentoring students in Indian cultural arts.

Core Instruction & Curriculum

- Design Lessons: Plan age-appropriate, graded Bharatanatyam syllabi covering adavus (basic steps), abhinaya (expressions), mudras (hand gestures), rhythm (tala), and theory.
- Teach Theory & History: Educate students on the origins, mythology, classical literature, and cultural context of Bharatanatyam and Indian arts.
- Conduct Training: Lead regular classroom sessions across various grade and skill levels (from beginners to advanced dancers).
- Safety & Conditioning: Guide students through proper warm-up and cool-down routines, and adjust movements to prevent injury or accommodate health conditions.

Choreography & Event Management

- Choreograph School Productions: Create and direct dance routines for annual days,



school assemblies, Founder’s Day, Independence Day, and festive celebrations.
- Prepare for Competitions: Train and select students fairly for inter-school and intra-school cultural competitions.
- Coordinate Logistics: Work alongside music teachers, event committees, and school administration to manage audio tracks, stage props, costumes, and makeup.
- Prepare for Examinations: Train interested students for formal classical dance certification or graded exams (such as Prarambhik or Madhyama).
- Candidate must have experience in Bharatnatyam Choreography.
- Candidate should have Indian Classical Dance Choreography Knowledge.
