Key responsibilities:

1. Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical faults.

2. Troubleshoot wiring harnesses, connectors, fuses and relays.

3. Check batteries, charging and starting systems.

4. Check starter, alternator, lighting, brake lights and indicators.

5. Diagnose ECU, sensors and related electronic systems using appropriate diagnostic tools.

6. Use multimeters, wiring diagrams and diagnostic equipment correctly.

7. Check CCTV, dashboard alerts and other assigned electrical/electronic systems.

8. Prevent short circuits through correct cable routing, fuse usage, insulation and clamping.

9. Ensure proper grounding of battery and starter motor.

10. Immediately report/replace burnt wiring after coordination with the supervisor and rectify loose joints/terminals.

11. Ensure fire alarms, buzzers and dashboard warning indicators are functional.

12.



Never remove fuses or bypass circuits to make a bus operational.

13. Record faults, repairs and parts replaced and support recurring-failure analysis.

Auto Electrician – Authority & Safety

1. Declare a vehicle unsafe due to an electrical fault and escalate immediately.

2. Recommend appropriate component replacement, fuse rating or cable rerouting based on technical requirements.

3. Refuse unsafe bypassing/tampering and follow workshop safety procedures.

4. Wear uniform and maintain a secured toolbox.
