We are looking for a motivated, skilled, and patient-oriented Optometrist/ Ophthalmic assistant to join our growing ophthalmology team at Bilaspur and Pamgarh, Chhattisgarh. The candidate will work alongside experienced ophthalmologists and gain exposure to comprehensive eye care, including cataract services, vitreoretinal diagnostics, diabetic retinopathy screening, and optical dispensing.

The ideal candidate should have good clinical skills, a professional attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing quality eye care.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform objective and subjective refraction and prescribe spectacles as appropriate.
- Conduct visual acuity assessment, retinoscopy, slit-lamp examination, and basic anterior segment evaluation.
- Measure intraocular pressure (IOP) and assist with glaucoma screening.
- Perform diagnostic investigations such as OCT, fundus photography, A-scan/optical biometry, and other investigations as per training and available equipment.
- Assist in diabetic retinopathy screening and other retinal diagnostic services.
- Conduct preoperative assessments and assist in cataract patient work-up.
- Assist ophthalmologists during clinical procedures and support cataract and vitreoretinal OT activities as required and trained.
- Counsel patients regarding investigations, spectacles, follow-up visits, and treatment plans prescribed by the ophthalmologist.
- Coordinate with the optical department for spectacle dispensing and patient satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate patient records, diagnostic reports,



and equipment logs.
- Follow infection-control protocols, patient-safety procedures, and hospital SOPs.
- Support OPD operations and patient flow at Bilaspur and Pamgarh, as assigned.

Eligibility Criteria

- Diploma in Optometry (D.Optom) or Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom).
- Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome.
- Strong knowledge of refraction and basic ophthalmic investigations.
- Experience with OCT, fundus photography, optical biometry, or cataract work-up will be an advantage.
- Good communication skills in Hindi; knowledge of English is desirable.
- Willingness to work at Bilaspur and/or Pamgarh, depending on operational requirements.
- Responsible, punctual, patient-friendly, and willing to learn.
