We are looking for a skilled, responsible, and patient-friendly Lab Technician & Phlebotomist to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples at the laboratory and visiting patients at their homes for sample collection. The role also includes sample processing, routine laboratory testing, proper specimen handling, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients at the laboratory, clinics, and patients' homes.
- Conduct home visits for blood sample collection as per scheduled appointments.
- Perform venipuncture and other appropriate sample collection procedures.
- Travel to patients' locations for home sample collection and ensure timely visits.
- Label, store, and transport collected samples safely to the laboratory.
- Perform routine laboratory tests according to qualifications and laboratory requirements.
- Handle, process, and prepare samples for diagnostic investigations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Follow infection control practices, biosafety protocols,
and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records, sample details, and collection reports.
- Communicate politely with patients and provide a professional home collection experience.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste disposal and confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications and Skills
- DMLT, BMLT, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Experience in phlebotomy and home sample collection is preferred.
- Good blood collection and sample handling skills.
- Willingness to travel for home visits.
- Valuable communication skills and a patient-friendly attitude.
- Responsible, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control practices.
