The Structural Engineer will be responsible for structural analysis, design, and connection design of industrial steel structures, including pipe racks, equipment skids, modular structures, pipe supports, sheds, shelters, platforms, and technological structures. The candidate should have strong knowledge of AISC and PIP standards, structural steel design, bolted and welded connections, and energetic analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design of pipe racks, equipment skids, modular structures, pipe supports, shelters, sheds, platforms, and other industrial steel structures.
- Design structural steel members, including beams, columns, bracing, trusses, and supporting frames, considering dead, live, equipment, piping, wind, seismic, and other applicable loads.
- Design and verify bolted and welded connections, including beam-to-column, beam-to-beam, moment, shear, bracing, splice connections, base plates, anchor bolts, gusset plates, and stiffeners.
- Utilize IDEA StatiCa and RAM Connection for steel connection design, verification, and preparation of connection calculation reports.
- Apply AISC and PIP standards, along with applicable ASCE and project-specific codes and specifications.
- Analyze and design pipe racks, pipe supports, equipment skids, and modular structures considering piping reactions, thermal forces, equipment loads, lifting, transportation, installation, and operating conditions.
- Perform structural modelling and analysis using STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent software, including member design, load combinations, stability, strength, and deflection checks.
- Knowledge of dynamic analysis, modal analysis, natural frequencies,
resonance, and vibration assessment for industrial structures and equipment supports is preferred.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, analysis reports, connection details, fabrication drawings, and vendor documents while ensuring design quality and code compliance.
- Coordinate with piping, mechanical, civil, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve structural interfaces, support fabrication and construction activities, and deliver engineering work in accordance with project schedules and specifications.
- Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to review and provide feedback on technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in handling engineering tasks.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet project deadlines.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering.
Experience: Maximum 3 to 15 years’ Experience of mechanical design in Oil & Gas, Water, Power or related Industry.
