- Machine Setup & Calibration: Mount and align workholding devices, fixtures, and jigs on the machine table with high precision.
- Tooling & Offsets: Select correct cutting tools, load them into the Automatic Tool Changer (ATC), and set accurate tool and work coordinate offsets.
- Program Prove-Out: Run dry cycles or first-piece trials (prove-out) to validate new programs, ensuring zero crashes and proper tool paths.
- Quality Inspection: Measure initial and in-process components using precision instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure compliance with GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Optimization: Adjust feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters to improve surface finish, tool life, and cycle times.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily routine checks, maintain 5S workshop standards, and report any machine faults.
