# Senior Production Engineer ## Role Overview Nandan GSE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Production Engineer to lead shop-floor execution, productivity, and quality at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Khalapur, Maharashtra. This pivotal role involves translating Production Planning & Control (PPC) schedules into tangible output, optimizing manpower deployment, enhancing machine and process performance, ensuring stringent in-process quality, and maintaining robust reporting discipline. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and contributing directly to the timely and quality delivery of our specialized equipment for defence, aviation, and industrial sectors. ## Key Responsibilities * Execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans meticulously as per the PPC schedule. * Drive on-time, in-full output across all stages: fabrication, assembly, painting, and pre-dispatch. * Proactively identify production bottlenecks and swiftly escalate or resolve them to maintain flow. * Monitor key performance indicators including output per man-hour, machine utilization, downtime, and consumable usage. * Lead and implement continuous improvement and Kaizen projects on the shop floor to enhance efficiency and quality. * Drive cost-per-unit reduction initiatives through effective process and methods engineering. * Ensure first-time-right execution and strive for zero major manufacturing deviations. * Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) teams for in-process checks and rejection control. * Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for repeat defects. * Enforce strict safety practices, PPE compliance, and 5S discipline across the production floor. * Drive audit readiness and ensure timely closure of all audit observations. * Maintain meticulous documentation discipline for ISO, defence Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and customer audits. * Provide strong leadership and clear direction to production supervisors, fitters, welders, and painters. * Maintain daily production logs, generate reason-for-delay reports, and review Management Information System (MIS) reports. * Conduct daily and weekly shop-floor reviews to assess performance and address challenges. ## Required Skills & Qualifications ### Education * BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering. ### Experience * Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in a production engineering role within a manufacturing environment. ### Technical Skills * Proficiency in Engineering Drawing Interpretation and Bill of Material (BOM) Interpretation. * Strong understanding of various Welding Processes and Structural Fabrication techniques. * Expertise in Mechanical Assembly processes. * Solid knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC) methodologies. * Experience with ERP/MIS systems for production management. * Demonstrated ability to lead Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) initiatives. * Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques.
