Role Description The Medical Coder at OMS Healthcare is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The individual in this position reviews patient records, clinical documentation, and provider notes to assign accurate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accordance with payer rules and regulatory guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include abstracting relevant information from medical charts, validating code selection, and ensuring that claims are complete,



compliant, and submitted in a timely manner. The role involves working closely with billing teams, clinicians, and quality assurance staff to resolve coding discrepancies and address documentation queries. The Medical Coder is also expected to stay current with coding updates, payer requirements, and organizational policies to minimize denials and support revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, with the ability to apply guidelines accurately to diverse clinical scenarios.
