1. Job PurposeTo prepare accurate AutoCAD drawings for modular kitchens, wardrobes and other interior furniture, ensuring that designs are technically feasible, measurements are accurate, and drawings are ready for manufacturing and site installation.

The designer will coordinate with the sales team, customers, project manager, site supervisors and manufacturing vendors to ensure smooth execution of projects.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Site Measurement and Design Planning

- Understand customer requirements, layouts and design specifications.
- Visit project sites when required to take or verify measurements.
- Review site dimensions, wall conditions, plumbing, electrical points, gas lines, windows and other site constraints.
- Coordinate with the sales team to clarify customer requirements before preparing final drawings.

B. AutoCAD Drawing Preparation

- Prepare 2D plans, elevations and sectional drawings for modular kitchens and wardrobes.
- Prepare detailed drawings showing dimensions, cabinet sizes, heights, depths and clearances.
- Prepare drawings for base units, wall units, tall units, lofts, drawers, shelves and internal storage.
- Prepare wardrobe drawings showing shutters, drawers, hanging sections, shelves and internal layouts.
- Prepare drawings for accessories, appliance spaces, fillers, end panels, skirting and other components.
- Incorporate revisions based on customer feedback, site conditions and management instructions.

C. Technical and Production Drawings

- Prepare dimensioned drawings suitable for manufacturing and installation.
- Provide cabinet-wise dimensions and component details as required.
- Ensure that dimensions, material specifications, shutter finishes, hardware and accessories are correctly documented.
- Check appliance dimensions and clearances for hobs, chimneys, ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers and other appliances.




- Coordinate with manufacturing vendors to resolve technical queries before production.
- Ensure consistency across plans, elevations and sections.

D. Site and Project Coordination

- Coordinate with the project manager and site supervisor regarding measurements, execution requirements and installation issues.
- Clarify drawing-related queries raised by carpenters, installers and vendors.
- Revise drawings when approved site changes are required.
- Ensure that the latest approved drawing is shared with the concerned team.
- Maintain proper records of drawing revisions and final approved drawings.

E. Documentation and Record Keeping

- Maintain a separate digital folder for every project.
- Save and organise DWG and PDF files using a standard naming convention.
- Maintain final approved drawings, site measurements and revision history.
- Ensure that obsolete drawings are clearly marked and are not mistakenly used for production.
- Maintain a project drawing tracker in Google Sheets showing pending, submitted, revised and approved drawings.
- 3. Required Skills and QualificationsDiploma, ITI or relevant qualification in interior design, drafting or a related field preferred.
- Positive working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- Understanding of modular kitchen and wardrobe construction.
- Ability to read and prepare plans, elevations, sections and detailed dimensioned drawings.
- Knowledge of cabinet dimensions, shutters, shelves, drawers, hardware and kitchen accessories.
- Understanding of materials such as plywood, HDHMR, MDF, laminates, acrylic and membrane/thermofoil finishes.
- Knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing and installation processes.
- Good measurement accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.




- Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of Google Sheets, PDF documentation and digital file management.

Knowledge of SketchUp or kitchen design and rendering software will be an added advantage.

4. Performance ExpectationsThe designer will be evaluated on the following:

1. Drawing accuracy: Minimum avoidable dimension and detailing errors.
2. Timely delivery: Drawings submitted within agreed project timelines.
3. Production readiness: Drawings contain sufficient details for manufacturing without repeated clarification.
4. Revision management: Changes are incorporated accurately and promptly.
5. Coordination: Timely resolution of queries from vendors, project managers and site teams.
6. Documentation: All approved drawings and revisions are properly saved and traceable.
7. Error reduction: Minimum rework, material wastage and installation delays caused by drawing mistakes.

- 5. Suggested Daily ResponsibilitiesReview pending projects and drawing deadlines.
- Prepare new kitchen and wardrobe drawings.
- Incorporate approved revisions.
- Check drawings before issuing them for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with the project manager and manufacturing vendors.
- Update the drawing tracker in Google Sheets and maintain project folders.
- Report measurement discrepancies, missing information and potential execution problems to management.

6. Authority and AccountabilityThe designer is responsible for the technical accuracy and completeness of drawings. Drawings must not be released for production until the required dimensions, specifications and approvals are available.

Any discrepancy in measurements, site conditions or customer requirements must be reported before proceeding. Changes affecting cost, material, design or delivery commitments require approval from the authorised person.

7. Expected Work ApproachThe designer is expected to be systematic, detail-oriented, punctual and proactive. The role requires ownership of drawings from initial measurement and design detailing through vendor coordination and final installation clarification.
