Job Title: Senior Technical Designer – Product Development (PD)

Experience Required: 5+ Years

Department: Product Development / Technical Design

Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Technology, Garment Technology, or a related field.

Role Purpose To manage the technical development of garments from initial design through sample approval and production readiness, ensuring accurate measurements, fit, construction, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate with Design, Merchandising, Pattern, CAD, Sampling, and Production teams for product development.
- Review design sketches, reference samples, tech packs, garment measurements, and construction requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical specifications, measurement charts, construction details, and tech packs.
- Evaluate development, fit, and pre-production samples against approved specifications.
- Conduct fit evaluations and provide clear technical comments for measurement, fit, and construction corrections.
- Coordinate pattern corrections, grading requirements, and size-set validation.
- Verify fabric parameters, trims, stitching details, and garment construction before sample approval.
- Track sample status, technical approvals, revisions, and development timelines.




- Resolve technical discrepancies between design intent, tech packs, samples, and production requirements.
- Ensure approved technical specifications are accurately communicated to sampling and bulk production teams.
- Maintain technical documentation, approval records, and product development standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve garment fit, construction quality, development efficiency, and manufacturability.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern development, grading, fit evaluation, and measurement specifications.
- Experience in tech pack preparation, sample coordination, and technical approval processes.
- Valuable understanding of knitted and woven fabrics, trims, stitching methods, and garment quality requirements.
- Ability to interpret design briefs and translate them into production- ready technical specifications.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem- solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant apparel CAD, technical design, or product lifecycle management systems.

Preferred Industry Experience

Experience in apparel product development, preferably in sportswear, activewear, knitwear, or export garment manufacturing.
