JOB PURPOSE The Project and Infrastructure Manager is responsible for driving the day-to-day, end-to-end execution of new store construction, fit-outs, and infrastructure setup across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. This role ensures all retail outlets are delivered on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with safety and regional design standards. Managing a portfolio that spans major tier-1/tier-2 cities in Tamil Nadu and the unique commercial zones of Pondicherry, the manager oversees multiple simultaneous project sites, coordinates a diverse panel of local contractors, and maintains rigorous financial and regulatory control under the guidance of the Head of Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Execution and Store Openings
2. Drive the end-to-end lifecycle of recent retail outlets from site possession through civil works, MEP installation, fit-outs, and final finishing across all regions of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
3. Ensure all stores open successfully on the approved launch dates by managing parallel timelines for multiple sites simultaneously across both territories.
4. Coordinate closely with regional operations, technology, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operational handover at the site level.
5. Cost Control and Financial Stewardship
6. Deliver assigned construction and fit-out projects within approved budgets and format-specific benchmarks.
7. Review, negotiate,



and tightly control any project variations or deviations from the initial commercial plan, escalating major adjustments to the Head of Department.
8. Establish and enforce a rigorous billing cycle, ensuring contractor bills are audited, verified, and certified accurately within 7 days.
9. Contractor and Vendor Management
10. Maintain and update a single, integrated master schedule tracking all active and upcoming projects in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
11. Build and curate a pre-vetted, rated panel of specialized local contractors and vendors across every key trade, ensuring coverage in both urban metros and regional pockets.
12. Hold all external contractors strictly accountable for deadlines, workmanship quality, and site safety protocols through regular site visits and evaluations.
13. Design Standardization and Layout Engineering
14. Execute projects against model layouts, placement guides, and standard Bills of Quantities for all company formats, including Flagship stores, Express outlets, Kiosks, Shop-in-Shops, and Vending sites.
15. Adapt layouts to meet specific local realities, such as high-street spaces in Tamil Nadu, heritage zone structural guidelines in Pondicherry, or quick-commerce dark store configurations.

Ensure site-specific layouts are finalized and issued within 7 working days of site possession, conducting rigorous final audits at handover to guarantee absolute conformance.
17. Health, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance
18. Implement and oversee stringent quality inspection processes at every stage of the construction lifecycle, ensuring coastal-grade civil and MEP adjustments where necessary.
19. Enforce standard operating procedures to maintain accident-free, clean, and secure construction sites.
20. Proactively coordinate and secure all mandatory statutory clearances, including structural, fire safety (TNFRS / Puducherry Fire Services), electrical (TANGEDCO / Puducherry Electricity Department), and FSSAI layout approvals before handing over any site.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field. Project management certification is highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum 6 to 9 years of experience in retail expansion, project management, or commercial construction, with a strong track record of managing multi-site project executions.

Geographical Track Record: Proven experience executing projects across Tamil Nadu (Ramnad, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Trichy, etc.) and Pondicherry, with a deep understanding of local market logistics and labor dynamics.

Industry Background: Prior experience in retail chains, hospitality networks, or quick-service restaurant chains running multiple formats simultaneously.
