Job Purpose:

The Senior Engineer- Production is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring that manufacturing processes run efficiently and meet company targets. This role involves coordinating resources, maintaining quality control, ensuring timely production, and implementing strategies for improving efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Production Management:
- Oversee day-to-day production operations to ensure that production schedules are met.
- Plan and allocate resources (manpower, machines, and materials) to optimize efficiency.
- Coordinate with departments like Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Logistics to ensure seamless workflow.
- Ensure compliance with production standards, quality assurance protocols, and safety regulations.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and mentor production staff, ensuring they are motivated and performing efficiently.
- Foster a collaborative working environment that encourages problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with HR to manage production workforce requirements, including scheduling, overtime, and performance management.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improving production processes, reducing waste, and optimizing resources.




- Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and control production costs to maintain profitability.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all production activities are in accordance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintain quality standards for products, identifying and addressing any deviations.
- Participate in resolving non-conformances, collaborating with the Quality team to implement corrective actions.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present production reports, including performance metrics, efficiency, downtime, and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including raw materials, inventory levels, and work orders.
- Provide recommendations for equipment or process upgrades based on production data.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed on the production floor, minimizing risks and hazards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions if needed.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a production role in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Experience in managing a team of production staff and leading production operations.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and production management software is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, especially ISO 9001, is an advantage.
