About the Role

Beyond Mentor is looking for an experienced, confident, and dedicated Career Counsellor cum Academic Counsellor for its Shillong operations. The candidate will guide students in career planning, academic choices, and future opportunities while coordinating with schools, parents, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Provide career counselling and academic guidance to school students.

Help students identify their interests, strengths, aptitude, and suitable career pathways.

Conduct individual counselling sessions, student interactions, and career guidance activities.

Explain academic streams, higher education options, competitive examinations, and career opportunities.

Coordinate with schools, teachers, parents, and students to ensure effective counselling services.

Conduct career awareness sessions, workshops, and orientation programmes.

Maintain student counselling records, reports, and follow-up documentation.

Support the implementation of Beyond Mentor’s Career Intelligence Hub and related school programmes.

Build positive relationships with schools and local stakeholders in Shillong and nearby areas.

Eligibility Criteria

Experience: Minimum 3+ years in career counselling,



academic counselling, student guidance, education, or a related field.

Education: Graduate or postgraduate degree; qualifications in Psychology, Education, Counselling, or a related discipline will be preferred.

English Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Local Languages: Strong knowledge of the local language is essential.

⁠Preference will be given to candidates proficient in all three languages: Khasi, Jaintia and Garo.

Strong interpersonal, presentation, and student engagement skills.

Ability to interact confidently with students, parents, teachers, and school management.

A responsible, organised, and student-focused approach to work.
