Role Description The Head of Department (HOD) will lead the academic and administrative activities of the assigned department (Engineering / Managment / Hotel Management / Commerce / Biotech / Education) in a full-time capacity. This on-site role is based in Bhilai and involves planning and supervising curriculum delivery, mentoring faculty, and ensuring effective teaching-learning processes. The HOD will oversee departmental budgets, academic scheduling, student support initiatives, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

Daily tasks include coordinating with management on departmental goals, facilitating industry linkages, reviewing academic performance data, and promoting research, internships, and co-curricular activities. The HOD is also responsible for fostering a collaborative culture within the department, ensuring transparent communication with students, staff,



and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service orientation to address student, parent, and stakeholder queries and concerns professionally.
- Proficiency in budgeting and resource management to plan departmental expenditures and optimize operational efficiency.
- Ability to support and oversee sales or outreach activities related to admissions, industry partnerships, and institutional promotion.
- Understanding of food & beverage operations and hospitality standards for HOD roles aligned with Hotel Management programs.
- Experience supervising receptionist duties and front-office processes to ensure organized departmental administration.
- Postgraduate degree or higher in Engineering, Management / Hotel Management, Commerce, Biotech, Education, or a relevant field; PhD preferred where applicable.
- Prior experience in academic leadership or departmental administration, with demonstrated ability to manage faculty teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Familiarity with accreditation requirements, academic quality assurance processes, and outcome-based education.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to learner-centric and inclusive practices.
