Role Description The Head of Legal Affairs is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing all legal matters across Evolve Energy Group. This role involves providing practical legal advice to leadership and operational teams, reviewing and drafting contracts and commercial agreements, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to energy, corporate, and environmental domains. Day-to-day tasks include managing corporate governance frameworks, supporting board and shareholder activities, and developing internal policies to mitigate legal risks.

The Head of Legal Affairs will also safeguard the company’s intellectual property, coordinate with external counsel on specialized matters such as patent law, and lead legal due diligence for partnerships, financings,



and strategic initiatives. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to support business growth while maintaining a strong legal and ethical foundation.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Law with the ability to interpret and apply relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Demonstrated experience providing transparent, business-oriented Legal Advice to senior leadership and operational teams.
- Proven expertise in Corporate Governance, including board processes, compliance frameworks, and policy development.
- Knowledge of Intellectual Property management, including protection, licensing, and enforcement strategies.
- Familiarity with Patent Law and coordination with specialized counsel for filings and portfolio management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution; LL.M or specialized legal certifications are an advantage.
- 7+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate or energy-related legal roles, preferably in renewable or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, particularly for commercial, project, and vendor agreements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and risk management.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
