Calyp is an early-stage deeptech startup, based in Germany and India, building context-aware intelligent systems that help technology understand what is happening in its surroundings. Our platform uses machine learning to interpret environmental audio and generate contextual information that wearable devices, biosignal systems, and other applications can use.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying production-ready solutions to take ownership of our web platform and backend infrastructure.

You will work across the full stack, from user-facing interfaces and backend services to database architecture, API development, security, and deployment. You will help transform our existing product into a reliable, scalable platform that can support growing usage, external integrations, and new product capabilities.

This is not a role limited to implementing UI designs or fixing bugs. We’re looking for someone who can understand the bigger technical picture, make sound engineering decisions, identify potential problems early, and build systems that are secure, maintainable, and ready to grow.

You’ll work directly with the founding team, contribute to architectural decisions, and have meaningful ownership over the technical direction of the product.

What You'll Do

- Build, maintain, and improve responsive web applications using modern frontend frameworks and TypeScript.
- Develop robust backend services, business logic, and asynchronous processing workflows.
- Design clean, maintainable,



and modular software architectures that can evolve as the product grows.
- Improve application performance, reliability, error handling, and overall user experience.
- Design and maintain scalable backend services, database schemas, queries, and data models using PostgreSQL and Supabase or equivalent technologies.
- Implement authentication, role-based access control, and appropriate authorization mechanisms.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in database queries, APIs, and backend processes.
- Design, develop, document, and maintain REST APIs and other appropriate integration interfaces.
- Build developer-friendly APIs and SDKs that allow external applications to integrate with our technology. Create clear technical documentation and integration examples for external developers and research partners.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, input validation, and secrets management.
- Contribute to privacy-conscious system architecture and support the technical implementation of applicable data protection requirements, including GDPR where relevant.
- Contribute to model-serving, inference optimisation, or data-processing tasks where appropriate.
- Write clean, testable,



maintainable code and contribute to code reviews.

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years of professional software development experience, with hands-on experience building and deploying web applications or software platforms.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with React or a comparable modern frontend framework.
- Solid backend development experience using Node.js or a comparable backend technology.
- Practical experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience building APIs or SDKs intended for use by external developers or third-party applications.
- Good understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modelling, and PostgreSQL or an equivalent database system.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, application performance, scalability, and maintainable code.
- Some hands-on experience with Python, machine learning workflows, or integrating ML models into applications.
- Transparent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a small, fast-moving team.
- Experience in ML/DL, including model development, training, fine-tuning, or evaluation, is a strong advantage.
