Role Description This is a remote, project-based contract role for a Freelance PCB Design Engineer. The engineer will translate client requirements and existing hardware into detailed schematics and PCB layouts, ensuring designs are optimized for manufacturability, reliability, and cost. Day-to-day work includes circuit design, board layout, reviewing and refining existing designs, and supporting reverse engineering efforts from physical boards to schematics and bills of materials.

The role involves close collaboration with internal engineers and clients,



clear documentation of design decisions, and timely delivery of project milestones. The engineer will also provide technical input for fabrication and assembly partners when required.

Qualifications

- Strong circuit design skills, including hands-on experience with analog circuit design and analysis.
- Solid foundation in electrical engineering principles relevant to PCB development and hardware product design.
- Proficiency in PCB board layout, including multi-layer designs and best practices for signal integrity and DFM.
- Experience with radio frequency (RF) design or layout considerations for high-speed or RF circuitry.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard PCB CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar).
- Ability to interpret and create schematics, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation with high attention to detail.
- Proven track record working in a freelance or contract setting, managing multiple projects and deadlines independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with global clients and remote teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent practical experience in PCB design.
