Overview: Marcus Evans founded in 1983, is a global Business Intelligence and Event Marketing company seeking a highly capable Data Engineer to join our in-house technology team in India.This is an internal, hands-on engineering role supporting the data platforms, integrations, and operational systems used across our international business. The role will focus on designing, building, and supporting up-to-date cloud-based data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple regions to deliver scalable data platforms, integrations, and automation solutions.Exposure to AI-enabled services is beneficial but is not a core requirement. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, improving business-critical systems, and working as part of an in-house team with a global remit.Working arrangements:Employees based in or near Mumbai will work:2 days per week in the office3 days per week from home on a rota basis2. Employees outside Mumbai may work remotely, with occasional office attendance when requiredKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data FactoryDevelop and optimise SQL Server databases, stored procedures, queries, and performance tuningBuild Python-based integrations, automation tools, and data processing solutionsWork with REST APIs and cloud services to integrate internal and external systemsTroubleshoot and resolve production issues across data and application environmentsCollaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutionsEnsure data quality, reliability, performance, and security across platformsProduce technical documentation and support operational processesParticipate in architecture discussions and contribute to ongoing platform improvementsWhere relevant, support the integration of Azure AI services, third-party AI APIs,
