Job Description

The OT Nurse will support surgical procedures in the Operation Theatre, ensuring patient preparation, intra-operative nursing care, and post-operative handover as per clinical protocols. The role requires close coordination with surgeons, anaesthetists, and OT technicians to ensure smooth conduct of procedures, strict adherence to asepsis and infection control standards, and timely, accurate documentation to support patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare patients for surgery, including pre-operative checks and documentation.

· Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile protocols.

· Monitor patient vitals during surgery and alert the team to any deviations.

· Support post-operative recovery and handover to the ward/recovery team.

· Maintain OT nursing records and consumable/medication logs.

· Coordinate instrument and equipment sterilisation,and verify functionality of OT equipment before each procedure.

· Ensure infection control and patient safety standards are followed at all times.

· Provide psychological support and reassurance to patients before and after surgery, and communicate clearly with families as required.

Candidate Profile

Registered Nurses with hands-on OT experience, preferably in ophthalmic or day-care surgery settings. Candidates should be comfortable working in a rapid-paced surgical environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and be able to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.

Qualification & Experience

DGNM/B.Sc Nursing with a valid State Nursing Council registration; 1-4 years of OT nursing experience. Certification in BLS/ACLS and prior exposure to ophthalmic or day-care surgical setups will be an added advantage.

Key Skills

· Strong clinical knowledge of OT protocols, asepsis, and sterilisation techniques

· Ability to work effectively under pressure during surgical emergencies

· Good communication and coordination skills with surgeons, anaesthetists, and OT staff

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
