Role & responsibilities

We need an R&D; Specialist to develop and commercialise nutraceutical and functional products in chewing gum, lozenge and toffee formats. You will own the work from concept and formulation trials through process optimisation, validation, stability and shelf-life evaluation, and scale-up to commercial production.

- Develop and formulate nutraceuticals, health supplements and dietary supplements in chewing gum, lozenge and toffee formats.
- Run new product development (NPD) from concept and benchtop trials to pilot batches and plant scale-up.
- Develop, optimise and troubleshoot processes, including improving yield, texture, taste masking, active retention and cost.
- Plan and run product validation, stability studies and shelf-life evaluation, and prepare and review the related reports.
- Select and qualify raw materials, actives, gum base, flavours, sweeteners and excipients, and work with vendors on this.
- Make sure formulations comply with FSSAI nutraceutical and health supplement regulations and applicable quality standards.
- Keep formulation records, batch records, trial data and technical documents (BMR, specifications, SOPs).
- Work with Production, QA/QC, Procurement,



Regulatory and Marketing to take products to commercial launch.
- Support customer (contract and private-label) development briefs, samples and technical queries.
- Track industry trends, recent ingredients and competitor products to feed the innovation pipeline.

Preferred candidate profile

- Candidates from nutraceutical and health-supplement manufacturers with in-house formulation and development teams. Examples of target companies: Fullife Healthcare, Nutralike and similar firms.
- Experience taking products from lab to commercial scale.
- Familiarity with functional actives such as vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts, probiotics and caffeine, and with delivery challenges like bitterness masking and active stability.
