Role Overview

Abel Techsoft Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced, strategic, and business-oriented Head of Engineering – Technology, Delivery & Business Growth to lead engineering operations, technology strategy, software delivery, and technical business growth initiatives.

This senior leadership position requires a strong combination of technical expertise, people management, delivery ownership, operational excellence, and commercial awareness.

The role involves managing cross-functional engineering teams, overseeing multiple client engagements, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective software delivery, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to business growth through technology consulting, solution engineering, and technical pre-sales.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technology leader capable of translating business objectives into scalable engineering solutions while building a high-performing, accountable, and growth-oriented engineering organization.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Engineering Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers, architects, technical leads, software developers, QA engineers, and other technology professionals.

- Build and scale high-performing engineering teams with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

- Drive workforce planning, recruitment, capability development, performance management, and succession planning.

- Establish engineering governance, technical standards, best practices, and a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

2. Technology Strategy & Solution Architecture

- Define and execute technology strategies aligned with organizational goals, client requirements, and business growth objectives.

- Lead solution architecture, technology evaluation, design reviews, and critical technical decisions.

- Oversee the development of secure, scalable, maintainable, cloud-native, AI-enabled, and enterprise-grade software solutions.

- Establish best practices across software development, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, security, application performance, and technical documentation.

- Identify emerging technologies and opportunities for modernization, automation, AI integration, and engineering innovation.

3. Project Delivery & Operational Excellence

- Own end-to-end delivery of multiple software development, modernization, integration, maintenance, and managed technology services engagements.

- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and service-level commitments.

- Oversee delivery planning, effort estimation, prioritization, resource allocation, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

- Establish delivery governance, project reporting, engineering metrics, and escalation management processes.

- Improve delivery predictability, engineering productivity, software quality, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.

- Drive effective adoption of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and other suitable software delivery methodologies.

4. Business Growth & Technical Pre-Sales

- Collaborate with business development and sales teams to identify, evaluate, and pursue new technology services opportunities.

- Lead technical discovery sessions, solution discussions, feasibility assessments, architecture presentations, and pre-sales consultations.

- Contribute to proposals, statements of work (SOW), technical estimations, resource plans, implementation roadmaps, and commercial discussions.

- Identify opportunities for account expansion, cross-selling, upselling, and long-term client partnerships.

- Develop reusable engineering capabilities, delivery frameworks, technical accelerators, and service offerings that support business growth.

- Align engineering capacity, technical investments,



and service delivery capabilities with organizational revenue and profitability goals.

5. Client & Stakeholder Management

- Serve as a senior technology and delivery partner for strategic clients and key customer engagements.

- Build and maintain relationships with clients, product teams, business stakeholders, and internal leadership.

- Ensure alignment between business expectations, solution architecture, delivery commitments, and customer outcomes.

- Lead technical discussions, project reviews, customer escalations, and delivery governance meetings.

- Promote customer satisfaction, transparency, proactive communication, and long-term engagement.

6. Resource, Financial & Performance Management

- Oversee engineering budgets, resource planning, team capacity, allocation, and utilization across client engagements.

- Monitor delivery costs, project profitability, engineering productivity, and operational performance.

- Improve utilization and efficiency without compromising quality, employee development, or customer commitments.

- Establish measurable KPIs and regular performance reviews across teams and delivery portfolios.

- Support strategic hiring, capability investments, technology planning, and operational forecasting.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

- Significant qualified experience in software engineering, including demonstrated leadership experience in engineering management, technology delivery, or technical leadership roles.

- Proven experience leading engineering teams, technical leads, architects, and cross-functional software development teams.

- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent software projects, client engagements, or technology service delivery portfolios.

- Strong technical background in software development, system design, solution architecture, and enterprise application engineering.

- Experience with end-to-end software delivery, including requirements analysis, technical estimation, planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

- Experience in technology strategy, architectural decision-making, technical governance, and engineering process improvement.

- Proven ability to manage project timelines, scope, resources, risks, customer expectations, and delivery commitments.

- Experience with Agile software delivery practices, engineering performance metrics, and delivery governance.





- Understanding of commercial aspects of technology delivery, including resource utilization, delivery costing, project budgets, and profitability.

- Experience interacting directly with clients, senior stakeholders, and business leadership.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

- Prior leadership experience in an IT services, technology consulting, software outsourcing, or multi-client software development organization.

- Experience building, scaling, and managing engineering departments or multiple technology delivery teams.

- Experience managing dedicated development teams, staff augmentation engagements, outsourced IT teams, or managed technology services.

- Hands-on technical background in Microsoft technologies, particularly .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Microsoft Azure, and related enterprise application frameworks.

- Exposure to up-to-date frontend technologies, mobile application development, API ecosystems, and distributed systems.

- Experience architecting or managing cloud-native, enterprise SaaS, AI-enabled, and digital transformation solutions.

- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and software security practices.

- Experience in technical pre-sales, proposal preparation, solution presentations, client acquisition, and strategic account expansion.

- Experience managing international clients, distributed engineering teams, or cross-geographical delivery models.

- Working knowledge of project profitability, resource utilization, delivery margins, and engineering financial management.

- Professional certifications in Microsoft Azure, AWS, software architecture, Agile, Scrum, PMP, or related disciplines are advantageous.
