Key responsibilities
A) BMS Operations, Exploitation & Reliability (primary)
• Operate & “exploit” BMS for performance• Continuously optimize HVAC plant and building controls through setpoint tuning, schedules, PID/logic adjustments, demand control strategies, and alarm rationalization.
• Drive energy and comfort performance using trend analytics, baselining, and seasonal strategy changes.
• Advanced troubleshooting & root-cause analysis• Lead diagnosis of recurring alarms, equipment trips, communication failures,
and control loop instability.
• Perform end-to-end fault isolation across field devices (sensors/actuators/VFDs), controllers/DDCs/PLCs, gateways, and supervisory servers.
• Use trends, histories, packet/network checks, and point-to-point validation to determine true root cause (not symptom closure).
• System health, availability & lifecycle management• Ensure uptime and resilience of BMS servers, workstations, databases, historian/trending, backups/restore validation, and user access controls.
• Manage preventive maintenance for BMS infrastructure (panels, power supplies, UPS, network switches where applicable, controller firmware, etc.).
• Maintain cybersecurity hygiene in coordination with IT (segmentation, access rights, patch/firmware planning as permitted, password management, audit trails).
• Alarm management & operational governance• Build/maintain alarm philosophy: prioritization, threshold
