Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead at Monay

Location: Kakinada or Hyderabad, India

Work arrangement: On-site, full-time

Monay is building two connected products: a wallet for enterprise and consumer payments, and a blockchain settlement layer that links payments to invoices and records confirmed money movement.

We need a strong engineer who can lead a small team in India and write production code every week. You’ll work directly with our US-based founder and team, make technical decisions and take responsibility for getting features delivered.

What the role involves

You’ll lead and mentor 3–5 engineers across Monay Wallet and Monay Blockchain. The work includes wallet applications, backend services, ledger integrations and smart contracts.

Our stack includes TypeScript, Next.js, React Native with Expo, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Rust, TigerBeetle and Solidity. We use Foundry, Hardhat and Arbitrum Orbit/Stylus across the blockchain work.

You’ll be expected to

- Take features from specification through implementation, testing and release.
- Review code carefully and keep pull requests small enough to review properly.
- Protect payment and ledger correctness as the products grow.
- Use Claude Code or comparable AI coding agents daily, and verify what they produce.
- Help your team solve problems, improve their work and meet commitments.
- Raise blockers early and take the initiative to resolve them.

Who we’re looking for

- 7+ years of skilled software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers.
- Strong, current coding skills in TypeScript/Node.js or Rust, with a willingness to work in both.
- Practical experience with AI coding agents in everyday engineering.
- Exposure to Ethereum/EVM, Solidity and smart contract tooling.
- A solid understanding of APIs, relational databases and testing.




- Clear written English and dependable communication.
- A record of taking ownership and finishing difficult work without constant supervision.

Payments, fintech, double-entry accounting, reconciliation, wallet integrations, TigerBeetle or Arbitrum experience would be useful.

This is a demanding startup role. It is not a routine 8-to-5 position where responsibility ends when the working day does. There will be tight deadlines, difficult problems and periods that require additional effort to get a release over the line.

Employment and stock options

You’ll initially be employed by Tilli Software India. The role will move to Monay India once the local entity is established.

After two years, you may qualify for Monay stock options based on your dedication, performance, leadership and consistency. Eligibility and any grant are subject to review, approval and the terms of Monay’s stock option plan. Completing two years does not automatically qualify you for a grant.
