QA & PACKING SHIFT MANAGER

Job Location: Kanchad, Maharashtra

Position Summary

The QA & Packing Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing packing operations and quality assurance activities during the assigned day, afternoon or night shift. The role ensures product quality and safety, manages packing materials and finished-goods inventory, and coordinates with other departments to support efficient and timely dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

· Packing & Dispatch Operations: Lead and supervise the packing team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, maximise output, and ensure lots are loaded, blended and passed on time so packing is not delayed.

· Workflow Coordination: Ensure smooth product flow from production to packing, effective handovers between production and packing teams, accurate and durable labelling for identification and traceability, and timely movement of materials through blending, packing, vehicle loading and dispatch.

· Inventory & Material Management: Monitor packing material and finished-goods stock against consumption and dispatch plans. Coordinate with SCM to avoid shortages and ensure correct storage locations, containers, quality and area demarcation.

· Shipping Documentation: Generate and verify shipping labels and dispatch documentation in coordination with Head Office, SCM and other stakeholders.

· Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with Head Office and transport companies to ensure timely deliveries, vehicle planning, loading and dispatch. Maintain safe storage and sufficient space for forklifts and pedestrian movement.

· Continuous Improvement: Implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors in packing, finished-goods storage, vehicle loading and dispatch.

· Quality Control: Ensure raw material inspection, batch numbering and testing are completed before warehouse unloading approval. Conduct quality checks,



process audits and sample analysis to maintain company and customer standards, including incoming raw materials and packing materials.

· Compliance: Ensure activities comply with company policies, safety regulations and applicable standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).

· New Product Introduction (NPI): Coordinate new product and improvement projects with stakeholders, oversee trials and sample segregation, and manage testing and evaluation until the required outcome is achieved.

· Deviation Management: Identify deviations from standard operating procedures and ensure corrective actions are taken.

· Documentation & Customer Complaints: Maintain Certificates of Analysis, retained samples and audit records. Capture customer complaints and coordinate timely corrective and preventive action (CAPA).

· Shift & Team Management: Track daily productivity, report performance, address shortages, breakdowns and defects, maintain safety and hygiene, train employees, assess competencies and communicate issues and objectives clearly.

· Planning & Collaboration: Develop packaging strategies focused on efficiency, cost savings and sustainability. Work with production, marketing and product development teams on improvement projects, timelines and budgets, and escalate issues through appropriate channels.

Qualifications & Skills

· Leadership: Robust leadership, problem-solving and attention to detail.

· Operational Capability: Ability to manage packing, quality assurance, inventory and dispatch activities during an assigned shift.

· Quality & Compliance: Knowledge of quality checks, process audits, traceability, documentation and safety practices.
