Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Polymer Recycling Unit Head to oversee and guide all departments, manage complete unit operations and administration, and drive production efficiency, product quality, new product development, and profitability. The candidate must possess strong technical and operational knowledge of polymer recycling and compounding, along with proven experience in greenfield project setup, plant commissioning, and P&L; management.

Key Responsibilities

- Overall Unit Management: Oversee, guide, and coordinate all departments, including Production, Process, Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, HR, Administration, and EHS.
- Technical & Operations Management: Apply strong technical expertise in polymer recycling, extrusion, pelletizing, compounding, process optimization, troubleshooting, and quality improvement.
- Greenfield Project Setup: Lead plant planning, machinery installation, commissioning, manpower recruitment, infrastructure development, and new-unit operationalization.
- Production & Process Excellence: Manage production planning, capacity utilization, material recovery, yield improvement, wastage reduction, and operational efficiency.
- New Product Development: Develop new recycled compounded polymer grades, optimize formulations, conduct trials, and meet customer-specific requirements.
- Manpower Management: Plan workforce requirements, guide departmental heads, develop teams, monitor performance, and maintain discipline.
- Unit Administration: Manage day-to-day administration, labour relations, attendance, security,



housekeeping, inventory, statutory documentation, and plant infrastructure.
- P&L; & Cost Control: Take ownership of unit profitability, operating budgets, raw material costs, energy consumption, manpower expenses, and overall financial performance.
- Quality & Maintenance: Ensure consistent product quality, preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and minimum downtime.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, environmental regulations, factory compliance, and workplace safety standards.
- Business & Operational Strategy: Establish SOPs, MIS reporting, departmental KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives.

Mandatory Requirements

- Minimum 20+ years of experience in the polymer/plastic recycling industry.
- CIPET qualification is mandatory.
- Strong technical and operational knowledge of polymer recycling and compounding processes.
- Proven experience in overall unit administration and management of all departments.
- Experience in greenfield project setup, commissioning, and plant stabilization.
- Knowledge of new product development, polymer formulations, and process optimization.
- Proven experience in P&L; management, cost control, and profitability improvement.
- Solid leadership skills with experience managing large teams and multiple manufacturing units.
