About the role
We are looking for an NPD Executive to support new product development and own day-to-day regulatory compliance for a premium, clean-label spice portfolio. You will run bench trials and shelf-life work for new blends, and make sure every product, label and claim is FSSAI- and Legal Metrology-compliant before it reaches shelf.
Key responsibilities
FSSAI Licensing & Product Compliance
▪ Manage FSSAI licences and renewals; confirm correct product categorisation and standards for each SKU
▪ Track FSSAI notifications, advisories and amendments, and flag impact on the portfolio
Label & Artwork Compliance
▪ Review artworks against FSS (Labelling & Display) Regulations and Legal Metrology rules — ingredients, nutrition, allergens, declarations
▪ Vet claims (clean-label, no preservatives, origin) and keep supporting evidence on file. Testing & Documentation
▪ Coordinate nutritional, microbial and contaminant testing with NABL labs for new and existing products
▪ Maintain product specs, COAs, technical dossiers and regulatory records
New Product Development
▪ Run bench trials and recipe standardisation for recent blends and formats with the NPD team and chefs
▪ Support pilot and scale-up trials at co-manufacturers, ensuring consistency with the gold standard
Sensory & Shelf-life
▪ Organise sensory evaluations and consumer taste tests; capture and act on feedback
▪ Set up and monitor shelf-life and packaging-compatibility studies.
Audits & Quality Support
▪ Support internal and external food safety audits at co-manufacturers with documentation and checks. Cross-Functional Coordination
▪ Work with Marketing and Design to move products from concept to compliant launch.
